Potential Link between Ectomycorrhizal Community Composition and Host Tree Phenology

چکیده
The timing of leaf phenology tends to be crucial in controlling ecosystem processes such as the acquisition carbon and water loss well tree nutrient cycling. To date, has mostly been associated with environmental control (e.g., temperature photoperiod) a relationship inheritance, while it rarely linked ectomycorrhizal community compositional changes through host tree’s phenological stages. Seasonal variations fungal communities have widely studied, but little is known about mycorrhiza composition along Therefore, we analyzed silver fir their during transition between stages each individual time bud break were monitored weekly for two years and, at same time, ectomycorrhiza was harvested from selected trees. In total, 60 soil cores differences using Sanger sequencing morphotypes. A significant difference beta diversity an overall confirmed periods both sampled years. Species-specific reactions transitions 18 different taxa, where positive correlation Russula ochroleuca, illota, Tomentella sublilacina, Tylospora fibrillosa observed stage burst.

Host tree phenology affects vascular epiphytes at the physiological, demographic and community level
The processes that govern diverse tropical plant communities have rarely been studied in life forms other than trees. Structurally dependent vascular epiphytes, a major part of tropical biodiversity, grow in a three-dimensional matrix defined by their hosts, but trees differ in their architecture, bark structure/chemistry and leaf phenology. We hypothesized that the resulting seasonal differenc...

متن کاملPotential link between plant and fungal distributions in a dipterocarp rainforest: community and phylogenetic structure of tropical ectomycorrhizal fungi across a plant and soil ecotone.
*Relatively little is known about diversity or structure of tropical ectomycorrhizal communities or their roles in tropical ecosystem dynamics. In this study, we present one of the largest molecular studies to date of an ectomycorrhizal community in lowland dipterocarp rainforest. *We sampled roots from two 0.4 ha sites located across an ecotone within a 52 ha forest dynamics plot. Our plots co...
متن کاملEffect of tree host species on fungal community composition in a tropical rain forest in Panama
To determine whether host species influence the composition of fungal communities, the ascomycetes and basidiomycetes present on three tree species (Prioria copaifera (Fabaceae), Quararibea asterolepis (Bombacaceae), and Trichilia tuberculata (Meliaceae)) were sampled on the 50-ha Forest Dynamics Project plot in lowland moist tropical forest on Barro Colorado Island, Panama. The most abundant f...
متن کاملA close link between bacterial community composition and environmental heterogeneity in maritime Antarctic lakes.
SUMMARY Seven maritime Antarctic lakes located on Byers Peninsula (Livingston Island, South Shetland Islands) were surveyed to determine the relationship between planktonic bacterial community composition and environmental features. Specifically, the extent to which factors other than low temperature determine the composition of bacterioplankton assemblages of maritime Antarctic lakes was evalu...
